METASK: Localhost 8545 Locked in Metamans

I try to move on to the Localhost 8545 network in Metask on my Windows 10 car with a Google Chrome browser. However, when I look at settings, I notice that the “Localhost 8545” network has some additional blocked configuration options.

As it turns out, this is not a problem specific to your individual experience. The Localhost 8545 network of Metamans usually requires some specific settings to be configured correctly before they can be unlocked and used for Ethereum transactions on Blockchain.

To unlock the Localhost 8545 network, you will need to follow these steps:

  • Check if your browser is correctly configured : Make sure you use the correct version of Chrome (in this case, Google Chrome 85) as default browser.

  • Set up the wallet settings in Metamans : Go to Metask settings by clicking the three vertical points next to the profile image or username in the upper right corner and selecting “Settings”. Scroll down to find the section labeled “wallet” and click it.

  • Select the Localhost 8545 network: within the wallet settings, browse the “Network” tab. Search for a “Localhost” or similar labeled setting (the exact label may vary depending on your Metask version). Make sure you select the “Localhost 8545” network.

  • Add an additional wallet seed : you will need to add an additional wallet seed for the Localhost 8545 network. To do this, click the “+” icon next to “wallets” and then select “Add wallet”. Choose the local file that contains the private keys for Ethereum, including the Mnemonic phrase.

  • Lock in settings and restart Metask : After you have completed these steps, save and close the Metask Window. Your wallet should now be configured correctly for the Localhost 8545 network.

What happens when you try to switch?

When you try to move to the Localhost 8545 network in your current configuration, you will see a warning message indicating that you need to add an additional wallet and block in settings. This is a normal behavior, because Metask is designed to handle several networks and wallets simultaneously.

Following these steps, you should be able to successfully move to the Localhost 8545 network in the Metask Configuration. If you have problems or have problems while configuring the network, do not hesitate to contact the Metask community for assistance.
